About Eileen
Eileen St. Pierre has 30 years experience teaching finance to people ages 5 to 95. Her audiences have included traditional college students, military service members and veterans, working adults, farmers and ranchers, small business owners, members of the sandwich generation and their parents, and her toughest audience of all, young children. Her favorite teaching venues have been nontraditional ones such as on-site at the John Deere Corporation, in county fair buildings, down in a courthouse basement, on military bases, and at a continuing care community.
She received her B.S. in Finance and Economics, as well as her Ph.D. in Finance, from Florida State University. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®). She has served as a personal financial counselor for the Office of the Secretary of Defense since 2013. Eileen's work has been disseminated in a wide range of publications including Journal of Financial Education, Journal of Consumer Education, Financial Practice and Education, Financial Review, Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance, Journal of Family & Consumer Sciences, Journal of National Extension Association of Family & Consumer Sciences, Journal of Extension, and Consumer Interests Annual. She has been sourced in over 80 news releases and radio interviews.
